WHO IS DALEDIVA FOR?
Women (minimum 16years) who want to find the ‘inner
Diva’ in them. The woman who is confident,
or wants to be confident, who loves to perform or
wants to learn how to perform, who loves to sing
but as yet no-one has heard her.

The word
Diva was mainly used for a great
opera singer, a prima donna. However,
the term now is also used to refer
to an outstanding popular female
performer of non-operatic works,
a woman of rare, outstanding talent, that
could be YOU and you don’t
even know it yet!
HOW
WE BEGUN
On
November 15th 2007 an open evening was organised
by Ally Law inviting any lady interested
in forming a new chorus to come along. The
turn out was simply mind blowing with over
80 women attending. People with a diverse
variety of singing backgrounds; those with
lots of choral experience and musical background,
some who hadn’t sung since school many
years ago and those who only sing in the
shower when nobody is listening!
The following week the
first official rehearsal took place and
DaleDiva became a reality. Since then,
52 people have already passed their audition
and are proud to count themselves as ‘founder
members’.
The chorus will
be singing a variety of 4-part, unaccompanied
arrangements, mainly in the ‘barbershop
style’ and have been accepted as
a prospective chorus in a worldwide singing
organisation, ‘Sweet Adelines
International’ with a membership
of nearly 27,000 women singers. Our region
